Default Where is everyone moving to?

As of late, there's been a lot of players leaving or talking about leaving on the American servers. Guild Wars has been kinda stagnant for awhile now, even with the recent release of hard mode and the ATS.

PvPers are sick of the stagnant, gimmick-heavy metagame that it apparently exactly what Anet wants. I don't think I've seen a thread in the Gladiator's Arena in a long time where people weren't mad about one broken mechanic or another. Anet seems to be trying to pick up some of the pieces with recent skill balances, but none have been big enough to really fix things, and it seems like it's already too late to revive a sick community.

PvEers are growing bored with the lack of new content (hard mode is really just a drop in the bucket) and some of the more hardcore players are mad whenever anything in the game changes (see the monstrous soul reaping thread for more QQing). However, new players are still buying the now heavily discounted prophecies and factions. The result is that most of the "experienced" players are moving on, and the new players are casually making their way through, oblivious to all the whining on the forums.

So... where's everyone going? From what I hear, PvPers are anticipating the release of Fury and Starcraft 2, hoping for a fresh, balanced game. PvE players are going everywhere. Most of my old guild left for EVE online, and WoW seems to be pulling away a lot of people.

Personally, I'm interested in the upcoming release of Fallout 3. NCsoft's own Tabula Rasa looks like an interesting action-based RPG. I've heard good things about Hellgate: London and Overlord, though I haven't checked them out myself. GW2 sounds nifty, but that's another couple years away. On the FPS scene, the sequels to Unreal and Halo are pretty popular, and the upcoming Call of Duty 4 looks pretty awesome as well.

So... where are you moving? How many people are sticking around for GWEN? How many people are anxiously awaiting GW2? if you're leaving, what would make you stick with Guild Wars?

im not going anywhere!

Its all about setting goals for yourself and then go and accomplish them! Could be titles! Could be Financially!

Just set fun and hard goals and the game keeps being interesting!

Everybody keeps whining but i dont get the point! Just take the nerfs/changes like a man and get over it! Anet decides!

In the end its all about meeting interesting polite people and having fun!

Personally i cant wait untill GWEN release and offcourse in the future GW2!
I deleted most of my characters and made 1 character where i want 25 max titles with! That will keep me busy To bad i cant transfer my 7 free char slots to other peoples account for some Cakes and beers

I might switch games if Diablo 3 would ever be made... but blizzard knowing im allready old an grey (23 now :P) when and if it will be released!

greetings Milamber Ichindar

Personally my new games list looks like this:

Starcraft 2
HalfLife 2 EP2 w/ Team Fortress 2 + Portal
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
Bioshock
Fallout 3

And I'm looking to buy a Wii eventually.

As far as MMOs go, Guild Wars was the last of the decent ones before it was ruined, so I really don't know if I'll be playing any MMOs for some time.
WoW doesn't interest me...
But I was thinking about trying "Cabal Online". :/

Anyway, see everyone later.

well , a lot of my friends left gw years ago ( missed them)
and i can see lot and lot more of pro acting noobs around the game
in fact , they're infesting the community now
pvp is dead now , the most basic part of pvp -- RA's dead too
people are leaving and yelling noob team when they see they're in a bad team ( mostly they mean no monk team)
all those botters make me sick too , they're making the server heavily lag and going in/out outpost is a pain
but still i'm interested with gwen ,gonna go and see what's to play in it
but i know the devs are trying , thanks and sorry for the whining

I'll buy GW:EN when it comes out. In the meantime I'll be on the Skywall servers.

I averaged between 3-4 hours a day over almost the last year on my necro which is/was a hell of a lot of playtime. Sad to say but I had enough of the non-static ever changing nerf/buff environment and complete lack of end game content so the deal is sealed for me. I won't be buying the expansion or GW2.

Starcraft 2 sounds awesome and brings back a lot of memories playing "big game hunters". For right now I've been playing games I picked up almost 7 months ago and never even installed because of my preoccupation with GW. Gives me plenty of time to play HL2:Ep1 and F.E.A.R...maybe even some CSS.

Sometimes I play LOTRO..but and don't laugh... real life! hahaha yeah. I go on GW when I'm bored to chat, that's about it. Sometimes I spend money on new armor, but it's not really fun fun anymore. I try to have fun playing it, but it just goes away fast.

OP: I would advise your guildies not to head to EVE. The devs in that game are in some of the guilds (BoB right) and play favorites with their GM powers.

If I move to anything it'll be console games and AoC.

Playing WoW atm, but only as something to do until Fury comes out.

Waiting for SC2 as well, but that won't be for a while, even assuming blizzard doesn't delay it... which they will.

As a PvE'er, I'm waiting on Hellgate: London. I'll also be picking up SOE's spy MMO The Agency as a secondary game to play occasionally so I don't burn out on HG:L. Right now I'm playing Tomb Raider: Anniversary as well as City of Villains, and still pop in now and then for GW. I'll get GW:EN all the same. Probably only take a week or two to get through like Nightfall anyway.

I tried out EVE for a while, but it quickly turned into a game where I logged on once a day to switch my skill training.

I'm buying Fallout 3 for sure, pretty much anything dealing with the fallout franchise is 50 bucks automatically out of my pocket.

Quake Wars sounds good too, I hadn't thought of that one. I really liked the first enemy territory, so I'd be surprised if it didn't turn out very well.

WoW for me is about as much fun as repeatedly clicking on a screen and watching little numbers go up can be, that is to say, not much.

I'm torn on buying GWEN, I didn't get nearly as much enjoyment out of Nightfall as I did from Prophecis and Factions, I can't help but think my 50 bucks could be better spent elsewhere. Anyone have any compelling reasons to stay with this game, or is GWEN going to be a huge hero/hench clustermess?

Yeah, I've been playing some doom as well.
Summer classes are enough to stave off the boredom of a long-in-the-tooth GW.
